The K-drama “Perfect Crown” (2026), starring IU and Byeon Woo Seok, is one of the most talked-about and popular dramas of the year. This MBC drama, available worldwide on Disney+, was highly anticipated, and the buzz surrounding it keeps growing even as it airs.
With 6 out of 12 episodes released (as of April 28), the production team has truly gone a step further in terms of costumes and makeup, and everyone is talking about the visuals. But that’s not all. Many viewers have also fallen in love with the filming locations. Since the story follows the romance between a chaebol heiress and a Grand Prince in a modern 21st-century constitutional monarchy, the drama features many luxurious and high-end places. On top of that, because of its fictional royal and political setting, it also showcases beautiful palaces and traditional sites.
While watching, you’ll probably think: “I want to go there!” So here’s a list of must-visit filming locations of “Perfect Crown” across Korea.
First of all, there are a few filming locations in Seoul, such as Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace, and Jongmyo Shrine. If you’ve been to Seoul, you probably already know these major tourist spots. We will not cover them here and will instead focus on locations outside Seoul that are worth visiting.
Did you know? For historical dramas, production teams often travel all over Korea to film. Sometimes, a single scene combines two or three different places located more than 6 hours apart by car, but to viewers, it looks like one continuous location.
