Meet the Music

I Lost An Angel In L.A. or The Complexity Of Human Emotions is a Ty Bru album that was released in December 2023. However, despite being a musical triumph, the album was swept under the radar. Luckily, we’re here to shine some much-deserved light on this musical gem today!

I Lost An Angel In L.A. or The Complexity Of Human Emotions consists of 14 songs that, honestly, could all easily make it into your playlist, as there are songs for any type of mood you’re in. However, for the sake of an efficient review, we’ll introduce you to our favorite songs.

Starting with the first track, ‘The Complexity of Human Emotions’. This song replicates the relatable journey for clarity that Ty Bru goes on that we've all encountered at least once in our lives. The narrations between the rap and addictive melody mimic the web of complexity, which fits our emotions perfectly.

We’ll dive into the other song on the tracklist that’s also included in the album name next, ‘I Lost An Angel In L.A’. It’s another must-listen on the album as it encompasses that essence of the collection. This song speaks for itself, honestly.

‘Knee Sock Hip Hop’ featuring Riff Raff is another bop thanks to their stellar synergy and creative flow. With the spirit of hip hop etched into the lyrics, the song ebbs and flows between chill and intense rap in a way that has you imagining an LA-painted narrative unraveling in your mind. Again, proving that storytelling is indeed Ty Bru's strong suit, no matter the medium.

‘Celebrate/Hell To Pay’ featuring XZIBIT and Ed E. Ruger was also a strong contender for the top 3 spot. Whilst the other songs including ‘DROWNING’, ‘Locked Away’, ‘Deserted’, ‘don’t be the one that got away’, ‘A Solo Sunset At Venice Beach’, ‘Don’t Let Me Leave This Party Early’, ‘Lonely Mistake’, ‘Altered By Meds’, ‘Rise Of The Beast’, and ‘I’m Coming Home’, were also more than worth the listen.

It’s a shame that this album didn’t get the acclaim that it deserved, because we dare to say that it is no-skip with Ty Bru’s vocals and rap not disappointing for even a split second or single note. Each beat was composed to perfection, too. No cap.
