There are so many things to do in Seoul and there’s so little time to do them all. One of the must-visit tourist attractions when you visit this incredible city is none other than the Lotte World amusement park. It’s the perfect spot for adventure, along with other attractions such as riding the Seoul Dal.
Not only can you get your adrenaline rush fill, but you can also create unforgettable memories wearing cute Korean school uniforms which is one of the highlight activities there.
It’s perfect for an outing with friends, family, or as a date spot. If you’re looking for another list of date spots in South Korea, make sure to check our article about it.
Check out this ultimate guide to Lotte World below.
What is Lotte World?
Lotte World is an amusement park located in the middle of Seoul, South Korea, in a neighborhood called Jamsil.
This amusement park stands out because it is not only located in a stretch with the Lotte World Mall, Lotte World Tower, and Lotte Department Store all run by one of the biggest conglomerates in Korea… but it’s also partially indoors and partially outdoors.
The indoor portion is called ‘Adventure’ and has an ice skating rink, air balloon ride, indoor rollercoaster, bumper cars, a folk museum, and much more.
The outdoor portion is called ‘Magic Island’ and features a gyro drop ride, a number of rollercoaster type rides, a swing tree, and more.
The park is open from 10 AM to 9 PM or 10 PM depending on the day. Ticket sales end one hour before closing time.
How to Get to Lotte World?
You can either take a bus or the subway line 2 (the green line) and get off at Jamsil Station (잠실역 in Korean) which is right in front of the park.
How Much Does it Cost to Get a Pass to Lotte World?
The standard cost of the Lotte World day pass (a regular pass without the Magic Pass) on the official Lotte World website starts from 15,000 Korean Won (about 11 US Dollars) for a baby and ranges to 62,000 Korean Won (about 46 US Dollars) for an adult.
The cost of a pass to Lotte World also varies depending on where you bought the ticket and for which day or time. There are many Lotte World discount tickets available from different providers and with different conditions.
For instance, if you buy tickets for entrance after 4 PM from Lotte World, they are a lot cheaper.
In another instance, if you have a phone contract with the telecom provider KT and you utilize the KT Membership points, you can also get quite a big discount.
We personally booked tickets for Lotte World on Creatrip for 38,500 Korean Won (about 29 US Dollars - as of Feb. 13, 2024).
You can buy Lotte World tickets online or in person.
All About Renting a Korean School Uniform
There are a couple of Korean school uniform rental stores in and around Lotte World. As a plus-sized person (by Korean standards) and mid-sized person (by Western standards), I’ll share my experience specific to that.
Does Lotte World Have Plus-Size Uniforms?
Yes, I’ll tell you where to rent a plus size uniform at Lotte World.
The store I went to personally was Ehwa Korean School Uniform (also known as Ilhwa School Uniforms - 일화교복 in Korean) which is known for being the most size inclusive amongst the stores.
Ehwa School Uniform address: 212 Olympic-ro, Songpa-gu, Seoul, South Korea (서울 송파구 올림픽로 212 갤러리아팰리스 지하1층 36-27)
One other Korean School uniform rental store is Seoul Gyobog (서울 교복 in Korean) which is in the same building as Ehwa Korean School Uniform.
The other is Pixie Magic (픽시매직 in Korean) which is inside Lotte World and can be found immediately when you enter the amusement park.
Here’s my personal review of Ehwa School Uniform.
Ehwa School Uniform Rental Review
We arrived sometime in the afternoon around 2 PM. You can make a reservation for when you want to fit on and rent your uniform.

There are both male and female uniforms available to wear.
The store is quite adorable and even decked out with fitting rooms, a makeup/hair room, and a classroom-themed studio perfect for taking photos and filming content (equipped with tripods). There is even a separate locker room to store your belongings in.
There’s a huge selection of skirts, pants, shirts, jackets/blazers, ribbons/ties, and more to choose from to customize the school uniform of your desires.
How Much Does it Cost to Rent a Korean School Uniform?
We were able to rent a skirt, shirt, and tie/ribbon for 19,000 Korean Won each. The blazer or jacket was an extra 5,000 Korean Won. Of course, if you add more extras to your outfit (e.g. a backpack or pullover vest) then you’ll pay more. If you rent less, then you’ll pay less.
There are some extra expenses, too. You’re allowed to try on two outfits. After that, you have to pay extra for each outfit (something like 2,000 Korean Won).
Please note that upon renting the uniform, you have to pay a deposit of 10,000 Korean won and leave at least one passport or ARC (Resident Card) with the store. They will also give you a receipt recording all of this. You can pick these up again when you return your school uniform.
If you’re planning to do a single-day rental, you’ll be told to be back by 10 PM, otherwise you have to call the store in advance and pay a penalty fee.
About Plus-Size Lotte World Uniform Rental

As mentioned before, the main reason we went to this particular uniform rental store is because it was the most size-inclusive.
They have their own sizing number system so for the most part you need to search for clothes that you think will fit you with a loose reference of your usual sizing. Still, the clothes run on the smaller side. Whilst they have plus size uniforms available, they’re not as many as the straight sizes.
However, for context, I am a UK dress size 16 and a Korean size 99. I still managed to comfortably fit into a uniform of my choice. Granted I was wearing some of the biggest sizes they had available (ranging in the 90s and early 100s). Keep in mind that their largest female size is around a size 120.

What to Eat at Lotte World
As far as food goes, there are several food courts around Lotte World serving a selection of Western and Korean foods.
Besides these offerings, Lotte World is best known for all of the little snacks and street food that they sell such as slushies, churros, cheese bread, corn on a cob, shish kebabs, etc.
My friend and I had the churro, cheese bread, and later some soft serve ice cream and a Dippin’ Dots ice cream.
Highly recommend the soft-serve ice cream by the way!

How Much I Spent at Lotte World
With 62,000 Korean Won for the day pass and uniform rental and about 17,400 Korean Won for food expenses (one meal and two snacks)…I spent a total of about 79,400 Korean Won the entire day.
Considering everything, you could say that Lotte World is affordable depending on the way you look at it. For the full experience and memories, it’s super affordable. However, if you break down the expenses and look at them individually, for example, how almost every snack costs at least 4,000 Korean Won, then you could say it’s expensive.
What’s important is that you can make the most of the experience according to your budget and by making use of discounts.
